Coaches
3&D has elite level coaches with college playing and coaching experience. We hold weekly trainings and debrief meetings with our coaches to ensure they are exceeding the highest standards of fundamental skill development, team building, and positivity. We care about the development of each kid as a person and a player.
Tim Whittle
Owner, Director and Coach
Whittle is a former 17-year men's college basketball coach across the country with stops at Macalester College (MN), Washington University in St. Louis and Sewanee: The University of the South (TN). Whittle has been coaching club basketball for the last 4 years, as well working as the head boys coach at Catlin Gabel and the Director of Flash Skills Academy. As a player, Tim was a four-year letter-winner at Washington University, helping the Bears to a 79-27 record and two NCAA playoff appearances including a 1996 Elite Eight. Whittle received a Master’s in Education degree in 2008 from William Woods University in Fulton, Mo. He lives in SW Portland with his wife Beth (20 year college swim coach) and two kids, Summer and Banks.

Dave McAbee
Owner, Director and Coach
Dave McAbee was previously the Director of Flash Women’s Basketball from 2019-2022 recognizing the need for a program that keeps young women in competitive athletics through high school, while giving them a gold standard basketball education.
McAbee started working regularly with female basketball players as a manager for the University of Washington Women’s Basketball team in the late 90’s. After college, he attended Santa Clara University School of Law where he worked with athletes and coaches from Santa Clara University Men’s basketball team and alumni of the Stanford University Basketball Team. Dave is also an attorney at Intel Corporation, and a dad of boy/girl twins, Kellan and Rowynn.

Liz Lodgson
Coach
Liz is a WBB coach at OES, as well as a Willamette University student-athlete alum with a bachelors degree in Exercise and Health Science. She is hardworking, driven and passionate about girls basketball. Liz coaches all levels of girls teams at 3&D
Jamie Dickinson
Coach
Jaime is an assistant varsity boys coach at Catlin Gabel. He is also a storyteller and videographer. Jaime coaches middle school boys for 3&D.
