3 & D Hoops
is a year-round, committed, and highly-competitive basketball program for girls and boys grades 3rd though 12th.

Our mission
is to prepare athletes for the rigor of college basketball and academics, as well as pass on lessons from competitive sports that are essential for success in the business world

PRINCIPLES:
(1) CONNECTION between players, coaches, teams, parents and the community that translates to deeper relationships and better results on and off the court;
(2) COMMITMENT to stay together and work hard over extended seasons to achieve higher-level results, while maintaining flexibility for multi-sport athletes; and
(3) ACCOUNTABILITY from coaches, players and parents to stay positive and focus on development including business and life-lessons from competitive sports, such as teamwork, preparation, overcoming adversity, sportsmanship and performing under pressure.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT:

We have a comprehensive curriculum that has a detailed skill and playbook progression for elementary, middle school and high school players and teams that covers every aspect of the game. However, realizing no one can focus on everything, 3 & D prioritizes the following skills:
(1) SCORING A 7 step shooting progression that has been refined and tested over years to develop great fundamental shooters, a footwork-based finishing school that gives players the ability to finish creatively with any hand off either foot, and a combination of attacking motion and screen-and-roll continuity offenses that enable players to translate their scoring skills into the games;
(2) DEFENSE A club focus on providing ultimate effort in the pack line man defense that emphasizes ball pressure, closeouts, various screen/roll coverages, and team-based defensive concepts, while also introducing man and zone trap defenses to prepare players for any high-school or college defensive system; and
(3) IQ 3&D builds smart basketball players by: (1) focusing on academics; (2) recording and providing stats for every game using Hudl; and (3) clipping game and scout film for the players, so they can see the game at a different level.
